Envision is dedicated to recruiting and hiring staff members to mentor and educate 3rd-12th grade students through our hands-on experiential summer programs. All of our positions are paid and room, travel, and most meals are provided. These positions are mentor/advising students to discover their career and life interests and provides them with the skills, resources, and experiences to successfully achieve their goals. Envision has been offering experiential programs to motivated students since 1985. Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more than 145 countries. The Envision portfolio offers a complete continuum of leadership and career exploration from Elementary STEM through Aerospace, Game Design, and Medicine.

Program Support Responsibilities
Program Support team members are responsible for supporting Advisors as they implement the educational curricula and for providing the best experience possible for all participants. Program Support team members will be responsible for interacting with and supervising scholars to ensure their safety and well-being. This position is comparable to a teacher’s aide working both in and out of the classroom. Program Support team members will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all events outside of the classroom. Program Supports will also assist with the logistical aspects of the program, including the setup and breakdown of events. Program Support team members report to the Program Lead.

It is useful to think of the Program Educators and Support roles in terms of the acronym CARE:  Chaperone, Administrator, Role Model, and Educator.

Chaperone: Accompany scholars to all group meetings and field excursions. Ensure scholars are following the code of conduct at all times. Account for scholars during group meetings, mealtimes, speaking events, site visits, excursions, and at room check (if applicable).

Administrator: Complete paperwork, distribute and collect materials from scholars, and follow the program schedule.

Role Model: Set a positive and enthusiastic example for scholars for the duration of the program. Model appropriate behavior, language, and enthusiasm.

Educator: Implement all program curricula, facilitate engaging scholar-led discussions, generate intellectual curiosity, and ensure that all educational goals are met during each phase of the program.

Create a safe and stimulating learning environment for all scholars
Assist with the preparation and facilitation of curriculum for assigned groups of scholars, including the assembly and delivery of materials
Substitute for the Advisor role on an as-needed basis
Serve as a positive leader, mentor, and role model for all program participants
Be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures and assist in their enforcement
Assist with inventory of program materials
Support the logistical needs of the program
Facilitate recreational and social activities
Attend daily staff meetings
Conduct regular attendance checks and a nightly room check to ensure that scholars are safe and accounted for
Work closely, cooperatively, and amicably with all staff members 
Perform other duties as designated by the program leadership

Knowledge and experience within the STEM fields (preferred)
Current student or bachelor’s level education
Previous experience working with elementary and middle school students (desired)
Strong logistical and organization skills
Must be able to bend and lift boxes up to 50 lbs. and walk various distances on college campuses
Ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems
Maturity and professionalism
Excellent customer service skills
Strong leadership skills 
Ability to set expectations for and enforce an appropriate student behavior
Health & Safety Responsibilities 
Clean and sanitize equipment and spaces 
Perform temperature checks 
Be around large groups 
Wear a face mask and any other PPE as required while performing all duties throughout your assigned workday   
Model best practices for staying healthy throughout the program 
Enforce health and safety guidelines among scholars and staff 

Responsibilities and requirements for this role may adapt and adjust with any new Local/State/Federal/Venue guidelines as well as recommendations and requirements from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for General Health & Safety. If there are any changes to the responsibilities or requirements of this position, you will be informed prior to your start date.

Successful Candidates
Are high energy, flexible, and have the ability to work extended days and hours
Will Reside at the program site
Can complete a mandatory training program prior to working the first session
Can pass a mandatory background check
Are eligible to work in the United States

** Envision’s programs are held on college campuses and at conference centers across the United States. Positions could be based at any program location. The approximate start date in 2021 is June 15th.
